Our Mission Statement![]() ![]() Web of Narcissism (WoN) is a peer-based support group for people whose lives have been changed by a narcissistic relationship. As an organization, we offer: 1) psychological information about pathological relationships and the dangers of untreated psychopathology 2) extend validation to those who have suffered as a result of pathological relationships 3) facilitate integration of cognitive and emotional intelligence towards self-regulation and self-restoration As an organization, we intend to: 1) fill a void in people's lives 2) support professional therapists and counselors 3) foster a healing environment that is anonymous, tolerant, and devoted to a long-term recovery process 4) educate people about red flags and warning signs. As individuals, we intend to: 1) heal our lives while supporting peers who intend to do the same 2) admit our mistakes and challenge ourselves to do better 3) move from victim to survivor to thriver 4) restore personal power by accepting reality, making wiser choices, and taking responsibility for our lives As a collective, we intend to: 1) respect each person's right to make decisions for themselves 2) support those who choose to stay or leave the narcissistic relationship 3) practice good faith principles for a growth-fostering community 4) encourage honesty, integrity, tolerance and respect While providing information about psychopathology is the foundation to our organization, our main purpose & intent is supporting one another's healing process. Forum members may desire professional counseling in addition to peer-based validation provided on the WoN message board. The WoN organization does not advocate specific therapeutic treatments or recovery plans. We believe in allowing each person the dignity of finding their own path with the encouragement and camaraderie of fellow survivors. The original WoN forum was organized in 2005, hosted by MSN Groups. There are no paid positions on WoN. We are a volunteer organization dedicated to assisting people's education and their recovery from narcissistic relationships. Though some of our members are professionals in the psychiatric community, they participate as peers, reminding us that Anyone can be Involved in a Narcissistic Relationship. Anyone. Nowhere is this experience more immediate, powerful, or convincing than in a group." ~Dr. Judith Lewis Herman Thanks for visiting! |
