Uggghhhhrrrrr. Just so depressing and sad, such a waste of those boys' lives. My state had a bunch of these parental homicides, several in one year, and it scares me and wrenches my heart each time. I am re-reading The Sociopath Next Door, and am in the section where she described how and why normal people refuse to accept what they are seeing, excuse everything away, and doubt themselves for even daring to be so suspicious if they do get a glimmer of the truth. That is what haunted me the most about the article: the children's services guy saying that there was no reason to think something like this might happen, that the Dad had visitation before and nothing had happened....so....um....don't blame him. Combine that with the legal system and how wimpy it is about abuse.....and the fact that the word Narcissist or Psychopath were, once again, not mentioned in this article, psychologists were not quoted, and things like this are going to continue to happen.
