  • loved2much: After 6 months he calls me to tell me that he never cheated with another woman and yes when I told him to get his shite out of my home because I was tired of supporting him and is abuse he connects with one of his students a property manager that now he has a girl friend with two kids and he hopes I find love again..  I told him to enjoy his life. and thanks for calling me.

"Dreamworlds 3" on youtube

I was inspired by CZ's link to 'Killing us Softly'. I really enjoyed it and was reminded of a film I watched in class this year that I thought some of you might find interesting. Be warned though there is a ton of sexualized imagery and it can be quite disturbing. It's all about how women are depicted in music videos and how that translates to real life. I just noticed that the man who directed this film also directed 'Killing Us Softly'.

Thank you for posting this info.  I find it vitally important and so largely ignored and 'just the way it is'.  These images are so perverse and insidious.  There is no way for them not to affect us.  Deeply.

Fantastic! I always love a good documentary that keeps me focused on a serious problem in our society: "Mediation". Meaning---media-tion.

It's so EASY to blame people for the way they think and the destructive things they do without examining the larger social context. It's absolutely silly to expect parents to be more powerful than advertising and a media that's sole purpose is making money! We're telling our kids to hold on to values and principles that restrict their narcissism and don't make them feel good about themselves all the time. The media is telling them to Nourish the Inner Narcissist and do whatever makes you feel good.  =msn agony=

I watched each section.  =msn agony= Kinda hard to sit here and think 'happy thoughts' about society now.

If some of you are using dial-up or have difficulty watching posted videos, you can skip down to number 6 and 7 posted by Skater where the narrator focuses on "misogyny, intimate violence and stalking" and how this aberrant behavior is 'normalized' in a medated culture.
