Avatars

Any forum member with survivor status should be able to upload an avatar image to your profile. Here's how to do it:


1-Select an image you would like to use as an avatar. It cannot exceed 150 pixels in width and 200 pixels in height. (Sizes may change in the future---just a warning!)

2-Upload images to an EXTERNAL site, like Photobucket.com

3-Once your image is stored on your Photobucket account, highlight and copy the URL. Photobucket uses the term: Direct Link Copy the url located next to Direct Link.

4-Return to WoN and click on the icon of the kitty cat, My Profile.

5-On the left-side menu, click on Forum Profile Information

6-Tick the "I have my own pic" box. To the right of your selection is an empty window. Paste the url from Photobucket into this window.

7-Scroll to the bottom of the page and click "Change Profile"


Your new avatar should appear underneath your screenname. If your image was too large, you will not be able to upload it to WoN. Go back to Photobucket and use their handy-dandy editor to resize your image.

The image you were linking was too large. that was the problem, so I edited it down to size and VOILA! Peartree! How darling!!

That's FLYLady...but she'l probably be 'grounded' soon. I wanted to see if animated avatars worked and she was the first one on my gif list.

Looks like you can add animations but it's kinda distracting on a thread. I need that chubby fairy to stop waving the dustmop in my face. ACHOO!

P.S. If you have an image you would like to use, I would be more than happy to resize it for your profile. As long as you're patient....that's another option if you can't quite figure out how to do this. Post the image on a message on this thread and as soon as I can, I'll resize it and upload it to your profile.

  I am trying to figure out how to get the pics to upload, I made an account, have one in my album, but can not get it on WoN.

If it is too large, it won't load on WoN. If you look at the top of the upload page, it will say "Image too large" in RED FONT. Then you'll know what the problem is.

I guess she WAS too tall...I went to photobucket and joined and I can see my pic there...but I didn't see the thing you said about " Direct Link"...I just copied the url from the top in the address bar. Would you give me a hint about where it says Direct Link please on photobucket?

If you click on your picture on photobucket, to the left you will see a block that reads:  Share this image and underneath it will have the HTML codes, etc.
