How many people have you heard of that commit suicide at work? Strange. Maybe he was literally scared to death of Mel?

The Bjorn/ax/hatchet theme

In a letter to her lawyer at the time of the broken teeth, Oxana mentioned that Mel refers to his own behavior as acting like an "axe-murderer". In several video interviews, he mentions his "alter ego Bjorn, an axe-murderer who chops up convents".

Vikings chopped up farmsteads, churches, pretty much anything, why was it that convents were the first thing to come to his mind? Potential for mass quantities of BJs, before he burns down the convent?  Interesting personality split - IRL a super-conservative catholic church on his property near to his house, and an alter-ego that pillages nuns homes.

His description about quitting smoking:
"The first three days, you're an axe murderer. Day four, well, you might take a bat to someone. Day five? You're OK. It's really tough," Gibson said.

On The Tonight Show in late May of 2009, he took the blame for his marriage to Robyn Moore ending, stating "I did a pretty good hatchet job on my marriage myself. I'm to blame."
