Another question about posting pictures!  I have a couple of pics of Tosser's eyes (cropped - I have no concern that he would be identified on this board, even by his mother LOL).

If I upload them to Photobucket, then upload them in a thread on WoN, what happens to the pics on the thread if I then delete them from Photobucket?  Will they stay put here, or will they disappear?

I don't want to leave the Tosser pics on Photobucket!

Hugs
Syd

If you break the link in any way, you will lose the image on WoN. You have to keep your pics on Photobucket forever and ever and ever.  =msn tongue=

If you are worried about someone viewing your image on photobucket, select PRIVATE on your photobucket folder. Then people can't snoop through your images and it will still show up on WoN.

There's a "scramble" feature somewhere on Photobucket---i read someone posting about it but I can't give you instructions. This feature scrambles the URL, too.

CZ

Thanks for the quick response CZ - customer service is great around here!  =msn happy=

I guess I can stick the eye pics into a new Photobucket album and just make that one album private.  I really should learn more about what P/Bucket can and can't do!

You can create multiple albums on Photobucket and set the "Privacy settings' for each one. I have public and private albums on the same account!

Glad you like the service around this place, haha!! I've been doing some Photoshop work for a church-thing. Be careful telling anyone you can use Photoshop 'cuz they'll keep ya REAL busy! That kind of news spreads faster than a virus. It's been fun...don't mean to complain or anything. Still, I don't know that much about file saving so that has made a frustrating afternoon out of my artistic labors. I do 'web stuff' but getting things ready to print is a whole 'nother deal. (I'm creating 1950 graphics for a young women's group...they like vintage which always makes ME feel ancient.)

Questions re: Quoting

1)  When I click the "quote" button the entire post goes in my reply box and then I delete what I don't want.  Is that how it's supposed to work or can I somehow preselect the particular line(s) I wish to quote so only those will appear in my reply box.  I notice some seem to simply copy and paste the parts they want.

2)  On multiple page threads, how do I go back to earlier pages to quote from them?  I know that while I'm on, say Page One, I can click 'quote' next to a post and a reply box with that post will appear and it will be at the end of the thread.  I sometimes also want to go back to quote something else from page one but can't find a way to get off the last page of the thread without losing what I'd done so far in the reply box.    Any ideas?

THANKS,
Newglasses

Question:  Is there a way to "save draft"?

Sometimes I start a reply and need to stop and think a bit or run off to do something.  I'm not ready to actually post it but I've invested too much time/thought in it to just let it disappear.  If there was a way to save ones draft it would also help to be able to retrieve at least part of what you were doing when the glitches whisk a post off to cyberspace leaving no trace behind.

I guess in lieu of some trick I simply haven't found yet, both the 'quote' issues and the 'save draft' issue could be resolved by starting the reply in a Word Processing program, copy/paste the quotes into it and save it before copy/pasting the whole shebang into the reply box.

Well, let me know if someone has a better idea!

THANKS,
Newglasses

My desktop is littered with word docs.  =party= As far as I know, that's the only way to 'save draft'.

As far as quoting from people's messages goes: If I'm reading a long thread for the first time, I copy quotes on my word doc and when replying, copy and paste the quote on the new window. Then I highlight it and click the 'quote' icon. The only problem doing it this way, is that you lose the attribution header on the quote box. I try to remember to put the person's name after the quote so people know which message is being referred to.

If you click the quote feature on their post, the attribution header appears; however the post is copied.

Maybe someone else has discovered a trick I haven't (that wouldn't surprise me at all!) Like this one:

On the bottom right-side corner of the message window, are two little lines. You can extend the size of your message window clicking and holding your mouse on those lines and dragging the window downwards.  =msn lightbulb=

Hugs,
CZ
